Plumbing signs you need to look out for...

Discoloured Pipes

Having discoloured pipes is a strong sign that there is moisture present. This is usually caused by water dripping from a sink or a leak in the supply line. So next time you are in your kitchen, try and have a look under the sink to see if the pipes are discoloured.

Slow Drain

This is a common sign that indicates there is an issue with your plumbing. It could easily be fixed or it could be something that is a little bit tricky to repair. If you are experiencing slow water drainage, call our plumbers today to find out if it is something serious that needs attention straight away.

Bubbling Ceiling or Wall Paint

If you suddenly find the wall or ceiling being too bubbled, it could mean there is moisture present. This could be due to a leak either in your plumbing system or the roof. When this happens, you should call a fully trained and qualified plumber straight away. Here at Pipeline Plumbing Services, we offer a range of plumbing services across Pulborough, Storrington and Billingshurst.

Plumbing Maintenance Tips

While most of us would agree that the plumbing in our homes is important, it’s easy to overlook niggly things that need doing or to fall behind on maintaining it. This is understandable as the weeks are busy and by the end of each day plumbing maintenance is the last thing on most people’s mind! However, keeping on top of things by following these simple tips is both quick and easy - and can save you hassle and expense further down the line.

#1 Keep your drains unclogged

It’s very easy for showers and bath drains to get clogged with hair and other debris that get caught in them over the months. Cleaning around your plug hole every week when you clean your bathroom helps, but nevertheless, your drain is likely to still get clogged and you may notice water draining very slowly at points, or your shower tray holding water while you are in it.

To tackle this, simply pour a mix of hot water and vinegar down your plug hole when this happens, and clean away any hair and gunk you can reach near the top. This should immediately improve how it drains away water.

#2 Be on the look-out for leaks

Leaks are never fun to deal with, and as well as causing damage to your home they also waste water and can cause an increase in your bills. The earlier a leak is spotted, generally the less damage it causes, so regularly check around your washing machine, sinks, toilet, shower and bath to see if there is any water escaping. If you notice any, call your local plumber who can investigate and arrange for the leak to be fixed. Doing this as soon as you can should minimise damage caused.

#3 Service your boiler

This is an easy tip to keep up with as it only needs doing once a year and the only work you need to do is make a phone call or send an email to arrange it! Gas boiler services are carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers and are one of the best ways to keep your central heating system healthy.
