I have a water pipe burst, what do I do?

While we're on the way, try to locate your home's main water shut-off valve, typically under the kitchen sink or in a utility closet. Turn it clockwise until it stops completely to shut off the water supply. Also, if possible, move valuables and furniture away from the affected area. Place towels or buckets under the leak to collect water and prevent further damage. Avoid touching any electrical appliances near the leak.
