Why is my boiler losing pressure?
It is common for the boiler pressure to go low however if it drops too low, most new boilers will automatically stop functioning. But what exactly could cause the pressure to drop? There are a variety of causes, ranging from leaks to component failures, and in this blog, we go through them.
How to check the boiler pressure?
The pressure gauge to a screen on the boiler with an error code will give you an indication of whether the pressure is too high or too low. For a boiler to perform effectively and safely, they need to run within a specified temperature range, which commonly falls between 0.7 and 2.5 bar.
If the pressure falls below the permitted range on a regular basis, it may usually be replaced using a system valve. It is also very important to remember, that if your boiler has lost pressure, pumping it up the water will only be a temporary fix.

Don't be alarmed if you awoke this morning to find your boiler has lost pressure for the first time. Your boiler might lose water and hence pressure over time, even overnight. All that is required now is to repressurize the system by topping up the boiler.

Leaks
Trying to look for a leak in your home's heating system can be difficult to detect. The reason for this is that it could be anywhere between the piping, beneath the flooring, or in the walls. To find a leak, follow the plumbing throughout the home and search for any signs of dampness or mould.

Your boiler is old
Fixing a leak on a really old boiler may not actually be worth it. In this situation, you should consider replacing your boiler with a new, energy-efficient one. The reason for this is that older boilers are more prone to develop corrosion and severe limescale, causing not only additional difficulties but also reducing the efficiency of your system.
Faulty parts
A fault code will most likely be shown on your boiler if it is losing pressure owing to a malfunctioning component. Damaged pump
